Sybiha: We are looking forward to the EU’s 20th sanctions package against Russia
Kyiv, January 29 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that he welcomes the decisions of the EU Foreign Affairs Council to strengthen sanctions against those responsible in Iran, Russia, and Sudan.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha spoke about the new sanctions decisions adopted by the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union (EU).
Referring to the scope of the sanctions, Sybiha said: “I welcome the decisions of the EU Foreign Affairs Council to strengthen sanctions against those responsible for human rights violations in Iran and for providing military support to Russian aggression; against Russia for war, propaganda, and undermining international security; and against those responsible for violence and destabilization in Sudan.”
Emphasizing the importance of sanctions pressure, Sybiha added: “Sustained sanctions pressure is a vital tool to deter aggression and uphold international law. Ukraine appreciates the EU’s leadership and is looking forward to an even tougher 20th sanctions package against Russia.”
