Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement regarding the messages of U.S. President Donald Trump on security guarantees and the protection of energy systems at a time when Russia’s attacks on energy infrastructure continue.

Assessing Trump’s remarks, Zelensky said, “An important statement was made by U.S. President Donald Trump about the possibility of ensuring the security of Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities during this extremely harsh winter period. Electricity is the foundation of life. We appreciate the efforts of our partners to help us protect lives. Thank you, President Trump!”

Referring also to regional contacts, Zelensky concluded his statement by saying, “Our teams discussed this in the United Arab Emirates. We are expecting the implementation of the agreements. Steps to reduce tensions contribute to real progress toward ending the war.”
