Thailand, Pakistan and Malaysia reach agreement with Iran on passage through the Strait of Hormuz
Tehran, March 30 (Hibya) - Some ships belonging to Thailand, Pakistan and Malaysia have been granted permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz after making separate agreements with Iran.
According to CCTV, some ships belonging to Thailand, Pakistan and Malaysia have been granted permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz after making separate agreements with Iran.
Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said in a statement on Saturday that, as a result of intensive diplomatic efforts by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs with relevant countries, permission had been obtained for the country’s oil tankers to safely navigate this strategic waterway.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar said in a social media post on Saturday that Iran had allowed the passage of 20 additional Pakistani ships through the strait at a rate of two ships per day.
Malaysia’s Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan also stated the same day that some Malaysian tankers that had previously been waiting in the strait had been granted permission to resume movement, but needed to wait for suitable transit times due to the tense security environment.
