Tajani: Death penalty law in Israel should be withdrawn
Rome, March 30 (Hibya) – Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called on Israel to withdraw the bill introducing the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tajani stated that, together with Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, they issued a joint note calling on the Israeli government to withdraw the bill introducing the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners.
Tajani emphasized that commitments to a moratorium on the death penalty in line with United Nations resolutions must be upheld, stating that the right to life is a fundamental value.
Tajani noted that the death penalty is an inhumane practice and that such regulations undermine human dignity.
